The Trains Down Buttercup Lane

The Trains Down Buttercup Lane

Down the street where the railway lies,

the noisy trains fly past.

Carriage by carriage each blur by,

till the echo has softened at last.

When the day is done we go to bed

but are woken in the middle of the night.

The train chuffs past there’s no more noise

or blinding yellow lights.

Dawn has come, its morning now

and we run down to Buttercup Lane.

We sit ourselves down to make daisy chains

watching the passenger trains.

When evening comes we’ve had some fun

and made 100 daisy chains.

We get ourselves up and get ourselves home

but tomorrow we’ll do it again
